FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: expandable nozzle of the rocket engine contains a stationary bell and shiftable nozzles, cylindrical shells inside each nozzle, an annular ledge on the outer surface and a movable fixing ring mounted on the end. Each cylindrical shell is docked with a removable packing along the cylindrical surface from the side of smaller diameter and has meridional cuts in the joining zone. The internal diameter of the cylindrical surface of the nozzle is equal to the inner diameter of the cylindrical shell. On the inner surface of the nozzle, in the transition zone of a cylindrical surface into a conical one, an annular groove is formed in which the end of a cylindrical shell with an annular projection is placed. The width of the groove from the beginning of the conical surface of the nozzle is designed in such a way that, with the nozzle extended, the tip of the cylindrical shell is beyond the cut of the stationary bell. A movable fixing ring is installed inside the end of the cylindrical shell. The outer diameter of the movable fixing ring is equal to the inner diameter of the cylindrical shell.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the gap at the junction of the fixed bell and the shifted nozzle and reduce the mass of the nozzle.
