FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: test samples of grains or seeds are placed in a X-rays flow. The exposure to X-rays is performed. The X-rays image visualization is recorded on the recording medium, with the subsequent information readout and computer processing. Wherein the grains and/or seeds samples are previously sampled from the batch and fixed in one layer on 10 sample holders not less than 100 pieces on each sample holder with a distance of at least 1 mm between the grains or seeds. The sample holders are placed between the X-ray source and the X-ray receiver. Each X-ray image is processed on the scanner with the simultaneous transfer to the computer. Ten digital images are obtained, which are simultaneously processed using software. The spatial differentiation of the grains X-ray images brightness function is performed, the X-ray image optical distortion is eliminated. The average width, average length, average area, average optical grain area, the average area and the average optical density of the defect are calculated. The geometric image of the defect is recognized by comparison with the existing mathematical description of the defect. The defect is detected, and the number and the percentage of grains with the anatomical and morphological defect is determined. The final quantitative characterization of the defect is calculated as where S (A) is the corn seed (a grain or a seed) area; D (A) is the defect area.
EFFECT: improved accuracy and reliability of determining the anatomical and morphological defects of grain and seeds in grain crops batches.
