FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: preliminaryheat treatment method before welding of Inconel 939 nickel alloy turbine component comprises heating the turbine component to a first temperature in the range from a temperature 35°C (19.4°C) below the phase dissolution temperature γ' and to the onset temperature of the alloy melting and holding at this temperature, cooling at a rate of 1°F (0.56°C) per minute to a temperature of 1,900°F(±25°F) (1,038±15°C) and holding at this temperature, cooling at a rate of 1°F per minute to a temperature 1,800°F(±25°F) (982±15°C) and holding at this temperature. Then, the component is cooled with a velocity 1°F per minute to a temperature from 1,650°F(±25°F) to 1,450°F(±25°F) ((899-788)±15)°C.

EFFECT: cracking under deformation aging during welding and subsequent heat treatment.
