FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: for the implementation of the proposed method, at least two digital video cameras of the optical or infrared range, capable of capturing stereo images of objects of interest, and which form a measuring system together with the processing system, can be used, spread out in space (in any plane), arbitrarily oriented and different by technical specifications.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining the distances to the objects of interest when using arbitrarily placed digital video cameras, from which distorted images can be received, and their photodetectors can be installed with a certain imprecision relative to the optical axes of the lenses, increased speed of the distance determination process due to the absence of necessity for preliminary program processing of images received from cameras, cheaper measurement system due to the possibility of using low budget non-metric video cameras.
