FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method for purifying botulinum toxin is described, which includes (a) pre-treatment of a culture solution containing botulinum toxin, (b) purification of pre-treated botulinum toxin using anion-exchange chromatography, and (c) purification of botulinum toxin using cation-exchange chromatography.
EFFECT: expanding the scope of methods for obtaining purified botulinum toxin with high purity and activity using a simple process consisting of anion exchange chromatography and cation exchange chromatography.
