FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining a biologically active additive to food comprises preparing the raw material - peach leaves and/or flowers, which are poured with purified water, the primary extraction is carried out, the resulting extract is separated from the vegetable mass, the concentrate obtained at the end of the process is preserved. During preparing the raw material, substandard parts are removed from it; after the 1st extraction, 2 extractions are re-conducted under the same conditions, with adding the purified water to the vegetable mass, the extracts obtained are combined and filtered, the combined extract is concentrated under vacuum, the resulting primary concentrate is cooled and purified, the concentrate is decanted and filtered or centrifuged, separating the slurry from the ballast substances, the secondary concentration is carried out; and for conservation, sorbic acid or potassium sorbate, to the content in the extract of not more than 0.2%, are used under certain conditions.

EFFECT: biologically active additive obtained by the above-described method is characterized by the increased content of flavonoid and polyphenolic compounds.
