SUBSTANCE: device comprises a housing with at least one inlet and outlet openings, a drum disposed within the housing with the possibility of rotation, a plurality of first-type blade elements extending approximately parallel to the rotation axis of the drum. The first-type blade elements have the impact surface arranged between the two end portions of the drum. The drum is partially enclosed in a circumferential direction by the wall of the housing. At least one inlet and at least one outlet opening are formed in the wall. The method consists in that the use of the above device includes the stage of loading the product to be processed into a drum provided with a plurality of impact surfaces and rotating around the rotation axis in the direction substantially radial with respect to the rotation axis. To suppress the activity of insects in loose fodder and food products, a rotor of the transverse-flow fan type is used.
EFFECT: more effective suppression of insect activity.
