FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: sealing insert has the multi-layer structure in which graphite layers alternate with metal sheets. The metal sheets are represented, for example, by steel sheets. The outer parts of the sealing insert are formed by the graphite layers. There are versions for making a ball valve seat with such a sealing insert, and a ball valve with such a seat.
EFFECT: Improving the tightness of the ball valve, especially while operating under high temperature conditions and in the presence of fluid media containing solid particles suspended therein.
