FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: lighting device (2a, 2b, 2c) comprises a light emitter (14) configured with ability to emit light with periodic modulation, in which information is embedded in light; and a light shaper (13), configured to drive the light emitter, providing an indicator to the light emitter. The indicator refers to the modulation of light, which is to be emitted by the light emitter, and the light emitter (14) is configured to emit light modulated according to the said indicator. The light shaper (13) is configured to drive the light emitter to emit light with the built-in said information on a plurality of different modulation periods. The light emitter is configured to emit light that is to be detected by the image capturing unit; and the light shaper is configured to drive the light emitter, avoiding that one or more of the modulation periods correspond to the frequency dead band created by the reception process performed by the image capturing unit.
EFFECT: reducing the risk of undetected coded light emitted by lighting devices.
