FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used for prediction of results of surgical treatment of morbid obesity in restrictive type of bariatric surgery. Initial blood serum concentration is determined. As an indicator, the concentration of ghrelin is determined. If its value is 350 pg/ml and more, a favourable course of the postoperative period is predicted in the restrictive type of operation. If its value is less than 350 pg/ml, recurrent obesity is predicted in restrictive type; bariatric surgery is supplemented with a shunting component.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing the accuracy and simplifying the prediction of the results of the surgical treatment of morbid obesity in a restrictive type of bariatric surgery by determining blood ghrelin concentration.
