FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of 4-((pyridin-2-yl)-diazenyl) phenylsulfonic acid derivatives and their salt forms of general formula I:

where R1=R2=H, or R1 and R2 together form a substituent of the form CR3R4, where R3=H, CH3, R4=H, CH3, C2H5, i-C3H7, C7H15, C8H17, or R4 R5 together form a spirocycloalkyl group, where R3, R4 = cyclo-C5H8, cyclo-C6H10; X+ = H, alkali and alkaline earth metal cations, such as Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+ et al, NH4+ and other pharmaceutically acceptable cations of organic and inorganic nature, as inhibitors of final glycation products (FGP) formation.
EFFECT: improved compounds properties.
