FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: device for growing plants on desert and infertile soils is made in the form of a container of a biodegradable material, comprising sidewalls with perforations, a bottom, and a cover. The device also includes a nutrient substrate with plant seeds, arranged in the container. Wherein a removable film coating is placed on the outer surfaces of the sidewalls and the bottom of the container. The container bottom is made perforated, and a layer of a waterproof material is arranged thereon. The cover is made in the form of panels rotatably mounted along the perimeter of the container sidewalls and equipped with detachable elements for fixing said panels in the upright position.

EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of plant growth in geographic areas, the soil cover of which was formed in the conditions of arid climate, salinity of soil-forming rocks and high mineralization of groundwater.
