FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the claimed method, the production of the starting target is carried out from copper of natural isotopic composition or isotope-enriched copper-63, target irradiation is carried out in a fast neutron flux (in a fast neutron reactor), and processing of the irradiated copper target is carried out by radiochemical method with extraction and purification of the nickel compounds (a mixture of nickel isotopes with a predominant content of nickel-63).
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of large-scale production of nickel-63 isotope with high specific activity, simplification of the process design by organizing the radiochemical processing of the irradiated target.
