SUBSTANCE: method comprises the electroerosive treatment of a part workpiece with a wire electrode tool, during which the vibrations on the workpiece attachment device are controlled. From the vibration signal, the effective values in the high-frequency range are separated and compared to the threshold value of the vibrations. In the method, the effective values of the discharge current signals are further controlled and compared with the threshold current value defined as It= kCIsc, where Isc is the effective value of the short-circuit current, at which the discharges are transferred to the arc, k is the safety factor, k = 0.7-0.9, and the threshold value of vibrations corresponds to a value exceeding in 1.4-2.0 times the effective value of the vibrations in the frictional contact of the electrode tool and the part. Moreover, if the effective value of the vibration signal falls below the vibration threshold value simultaneously with exceeding the current threshold value by the effective value of the discharge current signal, the current supply is turned off and the electrode-tool is removed from the part.

EFFECT: effective detection of the moments of occurrence of short-circuits, preventing the heating increase of the workpiece and the electrode-tool and the breakage of the electrode tool.
