FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric charge machining of complex-profile articles, for example, male and female die tooling, master cams, templates, punchers etc., from whatever current conducting materials. Proposed method comprises shaping preset surface at electric charge cutout machine tool with PNC in coordinated coordinate motion of wire electrode tool along trajectory generated by control program. Electric charge machining by wire electrode tool is performed in two passes. Note here that during first pass, trajectory set by control program allows shaping preset lateral surface of article by feed wire electrode into processing zone bottom to top or from top to bottom, while in second pass, without rearranging article and varying electrode feed direction into opposite direction, it allows re-processing of pre-shaped lateral surface along the same trajectory but in opposite direction.
EFFECT: preset precision or electric charge machining.
