FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: method for molecular genetic identification of willow plants based on microsatellite (SSR) markers is proposed, which includes DNA isolation from the test samples, PCR, electrophoretic separation of DNA amplification products, documentation of PCR results, determination of the amplified DNA fragments length by comparison with molecular mass standards, obtaining of a table of multilocus genotypes from microsatellite loci and obtained genotypes comparison with the original plants genotypes.

EFFECT: method allows to establish specimen identity and assess the probability of occurrence of multilocus genotypes and accidental coincidence of unrelated or related individuals; the invention also allows reliable identification of willow genotypes at individual level and can be used for a wide range of species of the Salix genus, thus being universal.
