FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, in particular to a method for producing sunflower genetic material. Invention allows to obtain sunflower genetic material having a low palmitic acid content of less than 3.0 % of the total oil content.
EFFECT: molecular markers of low palmitic acid content in sunflower (helianthus annus) and methods of using the same are proposed.
