SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for molecular genetic identification of birch plants based on microsatellite (SSR) loci. The method includes selection of DNA samples, PCR, electrophoretic separation of DNA amplification products, PCR results documenting, determination of lengths of the amplified DNA fragments by comparison with molecular weight standards, obtaining of a table of multilocal genotypes based on microsatellite loci, comparison of the obtained genotypes with initial plant genotypes to establish the identity of individuals, and assessment of the probability of occurrence of multilocal genotypes and random coincidence of unrelated or related genotypes.

EFFECT: invention provides reliable identification of birch genotypes at an individual level, the invention can be used for a wide range of species of the Betula genus, being universal.
