FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to identify the internal structure of archaeological objects, which are layers of limited strike and thickness, composed of mollusk shells. To isolate the boundaries of a shell layer in cultural sediments, a network of measurements is broken up on the research area, and georadiolocation measurements on profiles are performed. An electrophysical model of the geological environment of an archaeological monument is made on the basis of a comparison of the measurement results on a separate profile with a geological cross-section known for the search territory. The coordinates of the search object electrophysical boundaries are determined on the georadarograms based on the electrophysical model. A sequential construction of maps of the lower and upper boundaries of the search object and the difference map of the lower and upper boundary depths of the object are performed. The power map of the anthropogenic layer of shells obtained in this way is used for quantitative calculations of the layer parameters and for the reconstruction of the internal structure of the ancient settlement of shell collectors, which are necessary for solving archaeological problems.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of localization and ranking of selected structures with the definition of three-dimensional coordinates of the search object boundaries, a quantitative estimate of the area distribution of anthropogenic carbonate sediments with the determination of the total and differentiated volumes of the shell layer.
