FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method for Phaffia rhodozyma yeast strains cultivation to obtain a protein-vitamin additive with astaxanthin. The method comprises sequentially growing of Phaffia rhodozyma yeast strains on an agar medium and in seed flasks on medium with starch fermentolysate, corn extract and salts, transfer of the obtained material to fermenters. Cultivation in fermenters is carried out in the absence of light energy, and inoculum cultivation carried out with a 10-fold increase in the volumes of fermenters. Singlet oxygen is used to induce carotinogenesis.
EFFECT: possibility of usage of standard fermentation equipment, aseptic conditions of the process, industrial process implementation and minimized cost of lighting.
