SUBSTANCE: in the method for controlling the phase-shifting device by stepwise change in its state using its final state setting, selecting an allowable sequence of stepwise switching which satisfies the specified limits for the output voltage value, measuring the currents of the phase-shifting device, realizing the predetermined sequence of controlling the thyristor switch of the phase-shifting device, the voltages are measured at the phase-shifting device and according to the measured currents and voltages of the phase-shifting device, the equivalent parameters of the electric transmission line are calculated with respect to the nodes to which the phase-shifting device is connected, for additional adaptation of the switching routes in real time and control of the switching sequence of the phase-shifting device.

EFFECT: increasing the speed, accuracy of control and reliability of the power system operation.
