FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to phase-turning devices control means. In compliance with this invention, transformer shunted windings are switched by thyristor switch, which generate booster voltage on its winding, wherein final state of thyristor commutator is set, thyristor commutator currents are measured, its switching to preset final state is performed due to removal of control pulses from all thyristor switches of one switched phase of thyristor commutator, zero current is recorded in switching phase of thyristor commutator during time interval, which duration exceeds the thyristor keys recovery time, control pulses are supplied to switch on thyristor switches of this phase into the preset final state of thyristor commutator, wherein beginning of switching process of thyristor commutator is initiated when current line exceeds current threshold value, and a given final state of the thyristor switch is set such that the thyristor switch disconnects from the power line, and one or more shunt windings of the transformer are short-circuited.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of currents of thyristor switch of phase-turning devices, exclusion of long-term overvoltage on elements of thyristor commutator in short-circuit mode of power transmission line.
