SUBSTANCE: cerebral magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic stimulation are performed. Additionally, a positron emission tomography (PET) is performed, followed by a 3D modeling of the brain based on a combination of PET and MRI data. Moreover, magnetic stimulation is carried out in the zone of the topical representation of the precentral gyrus. By the largest muscle response recorded using electromyography on the selected wrist muscle, its location in the precentral gyrus is determined. The obtained image of the topical representation of this muscle is combined with the MRI image used to draw up the dose distribution map, excluding the area of the topical representation of this muscle during pre-irradiation preparation of patients with tumours in the zone of the cerebral precentral gyrus, with the removal of 110% of the isodose of isolated muscle control centres from the zone.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of detecting motor representation zones of target muscles in the cerebral cortex during irradiation of tumours of any size, allowing to exclude overirradiation of areas of topical representation of these muscles and to exceed tolerant doses for healthy tissues when the tumour focus is located near them.
