METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF MODERATE COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT IN CEREBRAL MICROANGIOPATHY (SMALL VESSEL DISEASE) Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61N2/04

Abstract RU 2778198 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology, and can be used for the treatment of moderate cognitive disorders in cerebral microangiopathy. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) of the brain is carried out with a block design, the activation periods of which correspond to the execution of a serial count to oneself by the test subjects on a voice command from one and further with the omission of multiples of three. The activation maps obtained in the T2* mode are superimposed on the volumetric reconstruction of the brain obtained in the 3D-T1 mode. The zones of the greatest activation are selected within the left accessory motor area and the selected zone is stimulated by high-frequency rhythmic transcranial magnetic stimulation for 10 sessions. Moreover, for each session, 2400 stimuli are applied with a stimulation frequency of 20 Hz and an intensity of 100% of the threshold of the evoked motor response. The duration of one series of stimuli is 2 seconds, the inter-series interval is 28 seconds. The total number of stimulus series per session is 60, which corresponds to 30 minutes.

EFFECT: method provides expanding the arsenal of technical means for effective treatment of moderate cognitive disorders in cerebral microangiopathy due to the personification of the target selection for high-frequency rhythmic transcranial magnetic stimulation within the accessory motor area.
