FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: video data encoding method, in which the value of, at least, one flag is determined based on the preferred coded picture buffer flag for the sub-images and the flag of the presence of the encoded image buffer parametres for the sub-images; it is determined, based on the value of the said flag, whether the encoded image buffer (EIB) operates at the access unit level or at the sub-image level; and based on the determination that the EIB operates at the access unit level: it is determined that the decoding units stored in the EIB contain the access units, the decoding unit containing the corresponding access unit is deleted from the EIB, and the remote unit of decoding, which contains the corresponding access unit, is encoded; or on the basis of the determination that the EIB operates at the level of the sub-image: it is determined that the decoding units stored in the EIB contain the subsets of the access units, the decoding unit containing the subsets of the corresponding access unit is removed from the EIB, and the remote decoding unit, which contains the subset of the corresponding access unit is encoded.

EFFECT: decreasing the codec delay.
