FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: catheter includes an elongated body having a longitudinal axis and a proximal and distal end, a distal assembly mounted at the distal end of the elongated body. The distal assembly has a shape-memory support member and a spiral-shaped member that closes more than 520 degrees and is oriented at an angle of about 30 to about 60 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis when it is not compressed, at least one irrigated ablation ring electrode, mounted on the distal assembly, and a control handle mounted on the proximal end of the elongated body. In the second embodiment, at least one electrode is mounted on the distal assembly and the mandrel defining the second predetermined shape is adapted to be inserted into the hollow support member. In the third embodiment, at least five irrigated ablation ring electrodes are mounted on the whole helically shaped member, where each electrode is spaced apart from each other, which is larger than the length of the electrodes.
EFFECT: expansion of the arsenal of ablation means.
