FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for applying a wear-resistant coating (60), which is a coating of tungsten carbide (WC) on the surface of a part and to a method for applying said coating. A device for applying a surface (30) to said surface of said coating (60) comprises a mirror piece (56) adapted to remove it. The mirror element (56) has at least one coated surface (60) that mirrors at least one surface of the part (30) intended to be applied to its surface of the coating (60). The device is adapted to transfer the cover (60) from the surface of the mirror piece (56) to at least one said surface of the part (30) by hot isostatic pressing (HIP). The method of applying a wear-resistant coating (60) to the surface of a component (30) includes the step of applying (78) a coating (60) to at least one surface of the mirror piece (56), a transfer operation (80) of the cover (60) from the mirror piece (56) to the workpiece (30) by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and the removal operation (82) of the mirror part (56). In another embodiment of the invention, a device for applying a coating (60) to the surface of a part (62) comprises a mirror piece (70) removable and installed to provide a predetermined gap (74) formed between the mirror piece (70) and the part (62) intended to be coated thereon, and a coating material powder disposed in the gap (74) formed by the mirror piece (70) and the part (62). Mentioned device is adapted to apply a coating material powder to at least one surface of the part (62) by hot isostatic pressing.
EFFECT: surface physical properties are improved to ensure wear resistance of the coating in an acidic environment, corrosive environments or allowing the applied coating to be used as a thermal barrier.
