FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method for post mortem diagnostics of congenital pneumonia in a deceased newborn includes post mortem magnetic resonance imaging study of the thoracic cavity organs of the deceased child in the T2 standard mode in the sagittal projection. On the obtained images, the signal intensity SI of the tissue of the right RL and left lung LL and pleural fluid PF is determined on the basis of which the coefficient of lung exudation is calculated according to the formula SIPF2/(RLSI)×LLSI). At exudation factor values less than 5.5, the presence of congenital pneumonia is diagnosed. At indicator values not less than 5.5, a conclusion is made about absence of pneumonia.
EFFECT: method provides a quick objective non-invasive diagnosis of congenital pneumonia in a deceased newborn and determination of the cause of death.
