FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neonatology and radiology, and can be used for determining the degree of lung maturity in premature newborns. In the first hours of the child’s life, X-ray examination of the lungs is carried out on a digital X-ray apparatus. On the obtained image, 4th, 6th and 7th intercostal spaces are divided into three equal parts - lateral, middle and medial. Sections not covered by shadow of ribs, scapula, heart are selected in each part. In the absence of catheter application, pneumonia, pneumothorax, pulmonary tissue density is determined in the medial region of 4th intercostal space and in the lateral region of 6th intercostal space, and a prognostic index (PI) is calculated by formula: PI = 1.621 × X1 + 0.069 × X2 − 0.132 × X3 − 31.899, where X1 is gestational age, X2 is maximum density of pulmonary tissue in medial region of 4th intercostal space, X3 is maximum value of density of pulmonary tissue in lateral region of 6th intercostal space. If PI is less than 0, a canalicular stage of lung development is determined. If the PI value is more than 0, the saccular stage of lung development is determined. In the presence of catheter imposition, pneumonia, pneumothorax, pulmonary tissue density is determined in the lateral region of 6th intercostal space and in the middle region of 7th intercostal space, and a prognostic index (PI) is calculated by formula: PI = 1.585 × X − 0.193 × X2 + 0.085 × X3 − 25.623, where X1 is gestational age, X2 is average density of pulmonary tissue in lateral area of 6th intercostal space, X3 is average density of pulmonary tissue in middle area of 7th intercostal space. If PI is less than 0, a canalicular stage of lung development is determined. If the PI value is more than 0, the saccular stage of lung development is determined.
EFFECT: method provides the necessary information for preparation for resuscitation and improvement of approaches to nursing, treatment of premature newborns due to determination of stage of development of lungs.
