FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: composition comprises (i) a whitening complex comprising a crosslinked polyvinyl pyrrolidone complex with hydrogen peroxide, and (ii) a thickening agent containing crosslinked polyvinyl pyrrolidone, the composition further comprises (iii) a non-ionic rheology modifier selected from at least one of: polysorbate surfactant and alkylene glycol ether C₆-C₁₂ of fatty acid or a mixture thereof. At that, the composition contains less than 3 wt % of water based on the composition weight. A method of tooth whitening, comprising appllication of the above composition to a mammalian tooth surface, is proposed as well.

EFFECT: combination of the composition components ensures composition stability during long-term storage and efficiency for teeth cleaning and whitening the, and furthermore, rheological characteristics that allow easy pumping of the compositions under typical processing conditions used in industrial production.
