SUBSTANCE: presented compositions contain conjugates of the capsular saccharides Neisseria meningitides serogroups A, C, Y, W135 and X with tetanus toxoid or CRM197. Each of the N.meningitidis saccharides has a carrier protein with which it is conjugated via a hetero- or homo-bifunctional linker using 1-cyano-4-pyrrolidinopyridinium tetrafluoroborate (CPPT), applied as a cyanidation reagent.
EFFECT: inventions can be used to protect the human host against the disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis infection.
