FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device for skull fragment fixation to the crown end of the skull is designed for placement in both the burr hole and the burr section. The device comprises at least one cortical supporting vertical member, the first closure means, the second closure means and at least one handle. The first closure means is functionally associated with the cortical vertical member. The second closure means is adapted to be fastened to the cortical vertical member to complete its closure. The handle is releasably associated with the cortical vertical member and is configured to drive the device for its transfer from the initial position to the operating position of attachment. The first closure means is associated with the distal end of the cortical vertical member. The second closure means is adapted to be attached to the cortical vertical member at a position in proximity to the distal end of the cortical vertical member, so that when the device is in its working position, the first closure means is located with an abutment on the inner distal surface of the skull and the second closure means is located with an abutment on the outer cranial surface. The first closure means consists of at least two elongated elastic arms operatively associated with the cortical vertical member. Each of the elongated elastic arms is terminated, in at least, one small, elongated arem located transversely with respect to elongated elastic arms. The device is further provided with at least one lower base for mounting on the device for skull fragment fixation and for simultaneous closure of the holes obtained for trepanation. The lower base has a cutout through which the device passes during its transfer to the working position of attachment, and a support surface where small transverse arms connected to elastic arms are slidably placed.
EFFECT: ability to perform an aesthetically acceptable closure.
