FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used for electric connection of the melting furnace to a current source. The connecting device comprises at least one contact body, which is connected by means of power cables to the current source, and at least one shaped portion as part of electric socket on the melting furnace. A movement device is provided for transporting at least one contact body from the initial position to the connection position, which is configured to provide electrically conducting connection with a geometrical closure of the contact body and a special piece by inserting the contact body into the special piece. One special piece has a seat with a centring function for the contact body. The seat has the shape of a negative truncated cone, and the contact body has an appropriately shaped positive truncated cone shape.
EFFECT: automatic connection and disconnection of electrical connection with minimal cost.
