FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes: providing an outer tubular element having a stem with an inner surface; applying the first layer of lubricant material to at least on a part of the inner surface of the outer tubular element; placing the outer tubular element in at least part of the borehole; providing a drilling tool that comprises an inner element having an outer surface and a central longitudinal axis aligned with a central longitudinal axis of the outer element; applying a second layer of lubricant material to at least a part of the outer surface of the inner element; inserting the inner element into the stem of the outer tubular element; allowing drilling fluid to flow through the bore of the drilling tool; turning the inner element with respect to the outer element; measuring a mechanical wear index and/or friction between the outer element and the inner element; determining whether the measured value exceeds the predetermined threshold level; and starting the following operation in response to determining that the measured index exceeds the predetermined threshold level. The subsequent operation causes an increase in the concentration of graphene contained as a slurry in the drilling solution.

EFFECT: reduced friction and wear of the drilling equipment.
