SUBSTANCE: method comprises obtaining a reference index from a bit stream, the associated reference index being reported to identify the associated image relating to the current block; defining the correlated image on the basis of the correlated reference index; obtaining the temporal prediction motion vector of the current block by scaling the motion vector of the associated block in the associated image; forming a list of candidates for motion vectors including the temporal prediction motion vector; and performing inter-frame prediction for the current block based on the generated candidate motion vectors list.

EFFECT: decreasing the amount of memory required during decoding.
