SUBSTANCE: amine promoters are used to enhance CO2 absorption by sterically hindered or tertiary amines. Amine promoters can be cyclic amines, including aromatic cyclic amines or bridged cyclic amines. The combination of amine promoter with sterically hindered or tertiary amines can improve absorption kinetics, while reducing or minimizing the number of generated carbamate salts. The promoted sterically hindered or tertiary amines can be used as part of the CO2 capture and release system, which includes a phase transition from the solution of CO2 and amine in the sludge of precipitated solid CO2 reaction products and amine.
EFFECT: invention significantly increases the rate of formation of bicarbonate.
