FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an extruded honeycomb catalyst for the reduction of nitric oxide in accordance with the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) method in exhaust gases from automobiles. The catalyst comprises an extruded active carrier in the form of a honeycomb structure comprising the first catalytically active component for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and with a plurality of channels, through which exhaust gases flow during operation and a coating of a porous oxide (washcoat) comprising the second catalytically active component for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) applied to the extruded base, wherein the first catalytically active component for theselective catalytic reduction (SCR) and the second catalytically active component for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR), each is independently selected from the group consisting of: (i) a vanadium catalyst with vanadium as a catalytically active component; (ii) a mixed oxide catalyst with one or more oxides of cerium oxide, zirconium oxide, and tungsten oxide as a catalytically active component; and (iii) an Fe or Cu-zeolite catalyst, in which the proportion of active components in the extruded carrier is reduced as compared to the conventional uncoated extruded honeycomb catalyst and is in the range of 10 to 60 vol. %. The invention also relates to an exhaust system, an internal combustion engine, and an automobile comprising an exhaust system and an internal combustion engine.
EFFECT: development of a catalyst adapted to new requirements at low development costs, as a result of the choice of various combinations between an active carrier and catalytically active coatings.
