FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: methods for reducing late ignition caused by premature ignition events in a cylinder are proposed. Forced supply of residual gases from the subsequent combustion cylinder to the adjacent cylinder can be detected based on the vibrations of the engine block, which are calculated in the interval when the exhaust valve of the subsequent combustion cylinder is opened. In response to the supply of residual gases suppressing premature ignition, such as fuel enrichment or withdrawal from operation, is performed in the adjacent cylinder.
EFFECT: reduction of poor engine performance caused by premature ignition.
