FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in control systems of internal combustion engines. Proposed is a method of the spark ignition and/or fuel injection into the engine cylinder adjustment based on the late combustion, incomplete combustion or misfiring in the adjacent cylinder. Method includes termination of the spark ignition and/or fuel injection into a second engine cylinder receiving the exhaust tail gases from combustion in the first cylinder, wherein the first cylinder experiences the misfiring or late combustion event. Termination of the spark ignition and/or fuel injection is performed in the engine second cylinder prior to the premature ignition event occurrence, which can be caused by an increase in temperature in the second cylinder due to the of hot gases introduction therein from the first cylinder.
EFFECT: using the proposed method, the deterioration of the engine characteristics due to premature ignition in the engine cylinders is prevented.
