FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: methods for blowing condensate from boost air cooler to engine intake along with the reduction of the misfiring events associated with the intake of water are proposed. During the blowing, the ignition timing setting is adjusted based on the amount of condensate blown per cycle. The ignition timing is set differently when the condensate is blown during the depression of the accelerator pedal as opposed to the proactive cleaning procedure.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of combustion in engine.
