FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method contains the ingredients mixture preparing, containing the metal alloying elements, the iron and the boron compounds, and the chemical reaction initiation between them in the inert atmosphere. The mixture is prepared from the ingredient simultaneously containing the metal alloying elements and the iron in the form of the boron-treated steel specimen and the boron compounds in the form of the powder mixture, containing, wt %: boron carbide 40-90 and flux P-0.66 10÷50. The chemical reaction initiation is carried out on the surface of the mentioned specimen in the high-frequency electromagnetic field during 90-120s to the depth of the boronized layer 600-1200 mcm.
EFFECT: invention makes possible to produce the boron-containing steel with the specified chemical composition for the other elements, to simplify the dosing of the addition alloys, to calculate the melting material balance, and the boron steel melting technology.
