SUBSTANCE: method of determining the temperature in the underground area is disclosed. In the version, a time of seismic waves is provided after emission from the source deep into the earth, and the transit time is used for the temperature estimation. In one example, a model based on transit time and an additional component which can, for example, be based on the heat flow and the coefficient of proportionality between the velocity of propagation of seismic waves and thermal conductivity can be used for the temperature estimation.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of the obtained data.
