FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method is to record the counts of currents and voltages, observed in the line in the current and previous modes, to convert the counts to combinations of currents and voltages of the current and previous modes, to use a transmission model, transforming the combinations of the observed currents and voltages of the previous and current modes to the combinations of voltages and currents of the respective modes in the place of the expected fault, to covert the combinations of voltage and current of the previous and current modes of this place to the combination of key measurement and, using it, to determine the coordinates of the fault location in the power line. According to the method of combinations of electrical values in the place of expected fault are also converted to a combination of additional measurement, the simulation model of the power line is used training the transmission model interval fault localization. For this purpose, the modes of fault in the line are reproduced in the simulation model and areas of display of the combinations of the key and additional measurements are defined on the respective planes in the modes. When observing the power line displays of the combinations of the key and additional measurements on the respective planes are defined for different locations of the expected fault, the places of the lines, for which the displays of both the key and additional measurement fall in the respective areas, are recorded and integrated in the interval of the power line fault.
EFFECT: expansion of functional possibilities and increase of reliability of the method of fault localization.
