SUBSTANCE: food preparation device contains a food preparation chamber, designed to hold a medium for food preparation, a cover, configured to cover the food preparation chamber, and a sealing element, installed between the cover and the food preparation chamber, for sealing the space between the food preparation chamber and cover. The cover comprises of a cover plating and a retaining element, disposed on the inner surface of the cover, while the retaining element is adapted to hold the sealing element close to the edge of the cover. The sealing element contains a lip-seal part, which contains the top edge and bottom edge, each of which is at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the sealing element to constitute, essentially, V-shaped profile on one longitudinal end of the sealing element and a crest part containing the upper crest and lower crest, each of which is located at the opposite longitudinal end of the sealing element.
