FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: system to account for the electromagnetic (EM) distortion using an EM tracking system contains a matrix of sensors tracking configured with an ability to measure EM energy in a given volume, and EM measurements correction module configured with an ability to analyze data from the matrix of sensors to detect and identify EM distortion causing objects, including untracked EM distortion causing objects in the specified scope, with the EM measurements correction module additionally configured with an ability to compare the characteristic signs of distortion stored in a database, to identify the source of distortion. In the second version, system contains a database generated through preservation of many distorsion morphologies described as characteristic signs, related to the tools, devices and combinations thereof that cause EM field distortion, a matrix of sensors configured with a possibility of intraoperative measurement of EM energy in a given volume, and EM measurements correction module, configured with an ability to analyze data from a matrix of sensors for detection and identification of EM distortion causing objects, including untracked EM distortion causing objects in a specified scope. The EM measurements correction module is further configured with an ability to compare the characteristic signs of distortion stored in the database, to identify the distortion source, at that, the EM measurements correction module is configured with a possibility of issuance of one or more of positions and orientations of the distortion causing object, error map that shows an error introduced by a distortion causing object, or identification information of an unknown distortion causing object. Method for electromagnetic (EM) distortion accounting is implemented through an accounting system.
