SUBSTANCE: encoding device for encoding an image unit using an external prediction comprises an extracting unit for an exemplary version of a motion vector predictor (PVD) adapted to extract possible PVD versions for encoding an image unit using an external prediction, where possible PVD versions include the first possible PVD version extracted from a frame other than the frame, into which the unit to be encoded is included and one or more second possible PVD versions extracted from the frame, into which a unit to be encoded is included; and a de-blocking unit configured, in the case where a plurality of second possible PVD versions are retrieved by the PVD extracting unit, and identical possible PVD versions are included among the plurality of the second possible PVD versions, to remove, at least, one identical possible PVD from the possible PVD versions for encoding the unit to be encoded using an external prediction.
