SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining capabilities of user equipment (UE), which receives, with the help of the target base station, the first information about the capabilities of the UE and determines if the first UE capability information indicates incomplete capabilities of the UE. If, in the determining step, the first UE capability information indicates incomplete capabilities of the UE after the UE is handed over to the target base station, the second capability information transmitted by the UE is received by the target base station, the second capability information indicating the full UE capabilities.
