FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and aims at diagnosing of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Samples of kidney tissue in the supposedly tumor and histologically normal tissue of a patient are used as the test samples. Presence and quality of RNA is checked for the presence of 18S and 28S, provided there is no detectable DNA impurity. Quantitative determination of the mRNA expression associated with the development of RCC genes using PCR-PB is performed. Values of mRNA expression levels of CA9, HIG2, and STC2 mRNA in tumor tissue are relatively normal are compared. Level of expression of a gene in a tumor differing by 2 or more times from its expression in normal tissue is considered to be increased or decreased. In the case of a reduced expression of the STC2 gene with increased expression of the CA9 or HIG2 gene, a conclusion is made that there is RCC.

EFFECT: invention provides increase in the sensitivity and reliability of the diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma.
