FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary preconditioning by the drug via single intragastric administration of its solution to a laboratory animal. Subsequent modeling of retinal ischemia is carried out by mechanical pressure of 110 mm Hg on the anterior chamber of the eye for 30 minutes. Minoxidil in an amount of 0.5 mg/kg of animal body weight is used as a drug 60 minutes before simulation. The retinoprotective effect of minoxidil is assessed by electro-retinography after 72 hours of reperfusion.
EFFECT: pronounced correction of retinal ischemia-reperfusion in the experiment, which is confirmed by achievement of retinal microcirculation levels and restoration of the electrophysiological activity of the retina.
