FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: it is used to control the polycondensation stage in production of alkyd varnishes. Essence of invention consists in that the method includes heating the working mixture to a temperature of 240–245 °C, control of the polycondensation stage is carried out by continuously measuring the electrical resistance of the reaction mixture in the heating process by passing through it an electric current using built into process pipeline electrodes, when a predetermined value of the electrical resistance corresponding to a given viscosity value, heating of the reaction mass is being stopped, cooling is being turned on and the process stops.

EFFECT: technical result is that the method allows to refuse the selection of intermediate samples and intermediate analyzes, time-consuming and energy-consuming, make the control comfortable and safe, allows to monitor the moment of completion of the polycondensation stage, which increases the safety of the process, allows to get a quality product and helps save electricity.
